Many countries are exempt from needing a visa to enter South Korea, and would only need a Korea Electronic Travel Authorization (K-ETA). A K-ETA costs around USD $7-8 and can be purchased online here: https://www.k-eta.go.kr/portal/newapply/index.do. The turnaround time for application is generally within 72 hours.
Some countries are not eligible for a K-ETA and would need to apply for a visa to enter South Korea. You can find out specific information relating visa requirements here: https://www.visa.go.kr/openPage.do?MENU_ID=10101.
